[When he was fairly sure the sky was clear of falling trees, Isamu had made his way outside toward the edge of town. It was late, but of the things the teen feared, creatures that went bump in the night weren't part of them. He didn't tell anyone he was leaving. He just went.

Sometime later, he can be found dozing against a light post just at the town's edge. It probably isn't the safest place to be, but he's too tired to bother walking back to the apartment complex just yet. His journal is with him, but it's closed shut.

Just a few more minutes, and he'll start walking...]

[Dammit. Isamu runs a hand through the hair at the back of his neck with a long sigh.]

[Naoki relaxes marginally with a soft snort. He pauses in front of the complex, pulling open the door.]

Yeah, make sure to keep that up.

[Teasing aside, he folds his arms and looks over. Yeah, stairs. Get to climbing, and Naoki will follow.]

What makes you think I don't already have one?

[And of course Naoki's making him go first. He trips up a bit on the first couple steps, but after he's kinda got the pattern down the climb is easier. When he reaches the top, he stops to lean against the wall because the room is spinning. He's not sure whether the tiredness or the alcohol is to blame. Probably both.]

[Naoki follows closely up the stairs after him--hand slightly extended just in case and once they reach the top, he looks over at him. Pressing his lips together but not saying anything, waiting until he's alright to move again.]

[Isamu looks up, sees Naoki, and after a short pause breaks out into light laughter.] We... really need an elevator.

[He rubs one hand over his eyes and pushes away from the wall but doesn't finish the walk toward his room yet.]

[Naoki looks over at him, tilts his head slightly.]

[Naoki stares at him for a few moments, as though puzzled. Then he smiles a little and ducks his head.] Guess it's a good thing I was, then.

[Glances away, turning slightly.] M'glad you're here. Even if we are stuck and it kinda sucks here sometimes.

[Isamu blinks a little, then chuckles, looking down at the floor.] ...Have we had this conversation already?

I think so. [Naoki quirks a smile over at him.] But I can say it as many times as it takes to get through that head of yours.

[Isamu stops at the door to his apartment, still with an awkward smile.] It's not that thick, you know. My head.

[Naoki pauses in front of him.] Oh, it's not?

[He taps the side of it with one finger.] You'd be surprised.

[Stopping a moment to add, in a firm tone.] When you go in, make sure to drink lots of water before you go to sleep.
