And I'll expect you to have cleaned up by the time the food is ready.

[He can't help but chuckle a little at that, rubbing the back of his neck.]

[So yeah, he'll just... go do that now.]

[Meanwhile, Richard will just busy himself making some bacon and scrambled eggs-- nothing fancy, but he doesn't really have the energy for anything more than that, and it's filling enough.]

[Clean and in new clothes, Isamu pads into the kitchen on bare feet.]

...Shit, that smells good.

I hope I made enough for your appetite, if you haven't eaten for a few days.

[He turns off the heat, then gets down two plates, waiting to let Isamu help himself first.]

I'm sure it'll be okay.

[He wants to just take all of it, but makes sure to leave plenty for Richard. He has to make sure that idiot eats too.]

[He can take more if he wants, because Richard is only serving himself a small portion of each for the moment. He's not sure just how long his housemate has gone without eating.]

How are your hands?

[Just how badly did you mess yourself up, Isamu? :|]

[Why are you talking when there's food, Richard? Isamu sets his plate on the table and holds his bandaged hands out.]

They'll be okay. I still can't grip anything too hard, but I was able to do most of the healing myself.

[Richard reaches out his own hands, then pauses, looking to Isamu for permission.]

May I try? I doubt my healing is anywhere near the level of yours, but I may at least be able to help a little.

[He managed to get a little bit of practice in before... well.]

It's fine... [Pulling the hands back away now.]

I'll do it myself once I've gotten some energy back.

[Though Richard doesn't protest, he looks almost hurt at the gesture, but quietly picks up his fork to begin eating.]

In that case, you should eat as much as you'd like.

[Isamu notices the look and feels a little bad, but doesn't change his mind on the subject.

He doesn't need a second invitation to dig into the food.]

[Richard does likewise, though in his case it's mostly just pushing the food around on his plate and taking a couple of bites here and there. Should Isamu look like he wants more, he'll be happy to pass the plate over.]

[Isamu, for his part, is done a lot more quickly than he'd have preferred to be. But he's not going to ask for any of Richard's Don't think he doesn't see you sliding that food around, bro. Food is for eating.]

[And don't think Richard doesn't notice that you're done already, Isamu.]

[He says this as he's already standing to get a second helping.]

[He narrows his eyes anyway, because he has to make sure you take care of yourself or something, dammit.

Isamu fills his plate up again before returning to the table. It's been a long enough time since he's sat down to a decent meal that he doesn't even feel like a glutton.]

[Richard remains quiet, just watching Isamu eat, almost as if he's afraid that Isamu will disappear too if he looks away.]

I'll be the one to break the news to him. I think Naoki would have wanted it that way... the two of them were friends, after all.
