[Raph reaches back to smack Isamu upside the head. It isn't hard, hopefully just enough to snap him out of it. He doesn't care if the kid's drunk. He's not gonna put up with that shit.]

[Isamu makes a pained sound and has to catch himself before he falls forward.]

[Raph grabs him roughly by the shoulder before he can fall, then tries to turn him around to face him.]

You listen to me, got it? You ain't gonna get nowhere talkin' like that. And you ain't gonna get nowhere doin' this to yourself. Now you are my friend, all right? And I don't just throw that word around. So you start mannin' up, or I'm gonna do it for you.

[He pauses for a moment, thinking of what to say next for a change.]

So as your friend, I'm gonna help you whether you like it or not. If you don't like it? Tough. That's just how it works.

[Isamu stares woozily at Raph as he goes on his tirade.

God, he's right. He's such a loser.

His eyes get watery about partway through, and he's biting his bottom lip soon after.

[Raph tries to hold his gaze, his own eyes fierce, impassioned, protective. You better be listening, Isamu. He's not dicking around, and he's not going to give in to that teary-eyed bullshit.]

[Raph just nods, then lets him go.]

[Isamu just nods, then leans forward so his forehead is against the turtle's arm.]

[He nods against the arm, then reaches forward to grip it.]

[Raph doesn't even bat an eye. He does this kind of cuddling with his brothers all the time, and in his mind, Isamu's about as close to a brother as any human's ever been.]

You'll be all right, okay? Whatever's eatin' at you, we'll work through it.

[He sighs.]

But you can't be drinkin' like this if we're gonna hang out. I can't be around the stuff anymore.

[He nods again. That doesn't require much thought.]

[He falls silent again, distractedly wringing his hands. Is there something more he needs to say? He guesses he should ask for more detail about why Isamu's acting like this, but Raph figures he doesn't really care. That's his business and if he wants to talk about it, he can.]
