[When he was fairly sure the sky was clear of falling trees, Isamu had made his way outside toward the edge of town. It was late, but of the things the teen feared, creatures that went bump in the night weren't part of them. He didn't tell anyone he was leaving. He just went.

Sometime later, he can be found dozing against a light post just at the town's edge. It probably isn't the safest place to be, but he's too tired to bother walking back to the apartment complex just yet. His journal is with him, but it's closed shut.

Just a few more minutes, and he'll start walking...]

What'd he say?

Nothing really. Just his word choice. Tone of voice.

...Did you ever get that lecture he promised? I wanted to hear it.

He said he was gonna lecture me? Ha!

Yeah, for ditching me like the jerkface you are.

Doesn't mean I'm not gonna bug you.

[He takes a long swig of his beer.]

But no. He didn't lecture me. He probably chickened out.

[Isamu laughs again.] Never said I wasn't.

Ah well. [He grins.] Some other time.

You're an ass. [He can't help but grin.] No wonder you can put up with me.

Takes one to know one?

Guess so.

Hey, if no one else can deal with us, we gotta deal with each other, right?

Yeah, I like that.

[He holds his bottle up to the light and sighs. Almost done. That means he has to go home soon, and he's not exactly loving the idea.]

[Isamu reaches over to pat the turtle on the shoulder.]

Hey, you sure you don't want me to just walk with you back to your place?

[Raph looks at Isamu with confusion.]

Why?

You know. Just for the company or something.

Y'know, I don't get you people. I don't get why I get thrown in this hell-hole n' everybody wants to be my friend alla sudden. The hell's wrong with you, huh? Don' I scare you? Don' I freak you out?

Y'can't fix me, if that's what you're tryin'a do. [He shakes his head.] I ain't your damn project. I don' need nobody's help.

Hey, chill. I was just asking if you wanted me to walk back with you, not if you wanted to trade friendship necklaces.

And I came from a place recently with a lot freakier things than you.

Whatever. [He sulks down on the bar stool, finishing his beer.] I hate this place.

Wouldn't be my first choice, but it's better than where I left I guess. [He finishes his off too, perhaps a little more quickly than he would have liked, then asks for a glass of water to down before he leaves.]

[Raph just sighs, getting up to standing. He hadn't realized he'd been drunk until his feet touched the floor and the earth gave its familiar wobble.

He won't wait for Isamu, but if he wants to tag along, he won't stop him.]

[Isamu isn't feeling entirely steady himself. Empty stomach, existing weariness, not the best time to choose to go drinking. Still, he figured he was better off than Raph was.

He tosses back the water more quickly than his beer so he can catch up with his green companion.] So, where IS your place, anyway? Or am I still too untrustworthy for that?

C6. [He motions vaguely in front of him, concentrating on placing his feet in the right direction.] Or maybe I'll go to the barracks. Sleep there instead.

[Following close.] Your brothers would worry about you, though, right?

[He waves off the thought.] They're usta me bein' gone.
