[He looks sheepish.]

Perhaps I should put you on a leash for safety's sake...

And how good would that look to the public?

[ledbythewind]

We can simply explain that it's the latest fashion trend and no one will question us. In fact, we might even get people imitating it.

[... this is starting to sound entertaining.]

[musubi]

How about no.

[Sorry, he's only willing to take the servant role so far.]

[ledbythewind]

[Okay, okay, Richard will behave himself and stop, though he can't help the laugh that escapes him.]

Regardless of what you can or can't remember, you can trust that I will always be your friend.

[musubi]

Yeah...

[Isamu's expression softens.]

I think I've figured that out by now.

[ledbythewind]

Now that that's settled, perhaps you could work on figuring out how to brew the tea.

[It's gentle teasing, but also an attempt to help keep things as normal as possible for Isamu right now. Even though Richard doesn't understand what's wrong with his friend, he knows that it's bound to be distressing.]

[musubi]

I'm telling you, I know how to brew tea just fine!

[He mutters something else unintelligible and slaps a box of tea bags down on the counter before setting the water to boil.]

Don't forget to make yourself a cup as well.

[Does he need to do the Nagging Mom act? He can do the Nagging Mom act.]

Yeah, yeah. I could use one, anyway.

[It's not as if the headache has vanished.]

[ledbythewind]

There. That's more like the Isamu I know.

[There's a definite note of relief in his voice-- whatever is happening, it doesn't seem like it's changed Isamu all that much, at least not so far.]

[musubi]

[Well at least he doesn't have to worry about acting completely different. That's a plus.]

Gotta keep something familiar, you know?

[He gets out a second mug while the tea continues to boil.]

You mean aside from vetoing every idea I come up with?

[So cruel, Isamu. They totally could've made the leash into a fashion thing.]

That's just in my job description. You have to read the fine print.

[ledbythewind]

I see. Then I don't suppose you would be so kind as to inform me of any other details that I might have missed in my reading of it, would you?

[musubi]

Heh. Careful what details you let me fill in. You might end up serving me on the weekends.

[ledbythewind]

That could be an interesting change of pace. Besides, you work so hard looking after me and this house every day-- you more than deserve a vacation of your own every once in a while. And perhaps a bit of spoiling as well.

[musubi]

You don't think I'm spoiled enough as it is?

[He grins.]

[ledbythewind]

Do you?

[Right back at you, Isamu.]

Now that sounds like a trick question. If I say yes, I might lose privileges.

[He brings two cups of tea over to the table on little plates. This tea set was probably expensive too.]

[ledbythewind]

To be honest, I hadn't even considered that until you brought it up. Thank you for doing me yet another favor.

[It's very clear from his tone of voice that he would never actually do anything of the sort, though. He's just teasing, the way he always does.]

I could just quit, you know.

[He wouldn't, of course.]

[ledbythewind]

You wouldn't dare.

[Oh, trust him, he knows.]

I could! Run right out the front door. There's only you here to stop me.
