So I didn't... miss anything, right? I didn't fall into a coma and sleep away Valentines? Did I just miss everything?

I'm going to assume I missed everything in my solitude somehow, because there's little chance that nothing happened. You see, I would have to be worried if nothing happened because that would mean that they might want to make up for it later and no one wants that.

Therefore, I want to know everything terrible that happened to you guys while I was blissfully ignorant. Come on, regale me.

Isamu can certainly spare time in between his trolling to lift an arm up and pat his friend on the back of the head. He isn't going to shove him off any time soon.]

[With a little sigh, Richard just leans into that patting, his body relaxing slightly as he does so. It's nice that he doesn't even have to explain what's bothering him; Isamu just knows. And he also knows not to bother him when Richard really isn't feeling up to company, something that obviously isn't the case right now.]

As well as can be hoped, I suppose. I'll be happier when this month is finally over.

Gonna be worried about things until then? It would be pretty crappy of them to hit us with something after the holiday has passed.

[Not that he wouldn't put that past them anyway.]

I don't trust them not to lull us into a false sense of security and then spring something on us once we've let our guard down.

[If he sounds bitter, it's because he is-- he has no love for this month at all. He'd thought they'd managed to escape the worst of it last year, and then those chocolates happened and Isamu had practically tried to jump him.]

True... they don't exactly have the best track record on that.

At least there's no more mistletoe. We just look out for anything out of the ordinary and don't eat anything we haven't made ourselves.

And don't leave the house unless it's absolutely necessary.

[There's a pause while he considers this.]

I hope I brought home enough books for that. I was only anticipating staying indoors for around three weeks, not a month or more.

Don't you have anything better to do besides read?

[Isamu frowns.]

I'm sure we'll figure something out. Following the journals is always a time waster.

[Richard's face falls at that, and he turns his head slightly so that Isamu can't see. As a child, he really hadn't had anything better to do than read, which was why he'd become such a voracious reader in the first place.]

We could always play board games...

Board games? Come on, man.

[He gives the blond's shoulder a light squeeze.]

You know what we need? A TV and gaming system. ... Of course that would mean going out to get it.

Do you think we would be able to find something like that in the store?

[Now he looks up, curious.]

That is, unless you were thinking of appropriating the one from the recreation center instead.

I think people would have a fit if we did that.

The store might have one, right? Or if we really wanted we could fork over some mission points, but I don't know if I'd want to go that far.

I'm not sure. I admit I haven't exactly been looking for them before. Technology in general is still a bit beyond me, I'm afraid. I wouldn't even know how to identify one unless it was one of the ones I've played.

[And how did one tell them apart from the machines that play the other kind of discs with movies on them?]

Once again, looking involves leaving the house.

[He snorts.]

Wonder if we could dupe someone else into checking for us.

We could always send Asbel to the store in our stead...

[Sounds like a plan to him.]

There's an idea. If he fell in love with some random shmuck I'm sure they'd laugh it off in the end.

That's assuming that Asbel even realized what was going on in the first place. He's somewhat slow on the uptake where romance is concerned.

[Hence why Asbel and Cheria finally getting together had been mostly Richard's doing.]

He is, isn't he? I wonder if he'd even be affected.

Only one way to find out for sure.

[Then again, there's a good chance that nothing at all would happen. Richard just doesn't want to take that risk himself.]

Are we really considering tossing Asbel out as our guinea pig?
