[When he was fairly sure the sky was clear of falling trees, Isamu had made his way outside toward the edge of town. It was late, but of the things the teen feared, creatures that went bump in the night weren't part of them. He didn't tell anyone he was leaving. He just went.

Sometime later, he can be found dozing against a light post just at the town's edge. It probably isn't the safest place to be, but he's too tired to bother walking back to the apartment complex just yet. His journal is with him, but it's closed shut.

Just a few more minutes, and he'll start walking...]

[Isamu sighs and rubs at one eye, weariness kicking in just at the reminder.]

You know what I did before I got here? I played fucking cleric to a guy I know that got munched on by that wolf in the woods. Lay On Hands shit.

The other spirits here... they won't work with me. Maybe they know a little more about me than they should. [He laughs a little.] The only one that will is the healing one.

So that's what I was doing this evening. Practicing healing magic. I told the guy not to tell anyone, but I think he works at the clinic. Hell, he might try and call me for help at some point and I'm just not the healing type. I mean, look at me.

I don't really know why I even bothered.

I don't know anything about magic, so nothin' I say's worth anything. But healin' magic ain't half bad. It's actually worth some good. You really can't go wrong with it save for healin' people who don't deserve it.

[He shrugs, leaning with his elbows against the bar.]

When I first came here, I picked a fight with this smartmouthed kid with lightin' magic. Almost died, but a girl with healin' magic saved my life.

I ain't gonna try to convince you either way, but I don't see what's so embarrassin' about it.

[Isamu runs a hand through his hair, removing his hat for the time being.]

Heh. Guess maybe I just don't want people to think of me as a nice guy. They might start expecting things.

[Raph grins at that one.]

I know how that is.

[You may understand him until he breaks out the video game logic.]

I'm a solo player, you know? Healbots are a group deal.

[And now he's lost.]

[Isamu takes a thoughtful sip of his beer, watching his incredibly unusual drinking partner.] I'm guessing this is where the whole selfishness issue comes into play, Mr. I Don't Like Selfish People.

Damn straight! [He juts a finger in Isamu's direction.] You try sharin' whatever crap you pull outta the dumpsters with three brothers.

[Dumpsters, huh? Hardcore.]

Well, here's to other people. [Isamu held his drink out for an impromptu toast.] Who need's 'em.

Damn straight. [Ha, toasts. Classy.]

Wait...I already said that, didn' I?

Eh. [He shrugs off the repeated phrase. Who cares?]

You're not gonna need help getting back to your place, are you?

[He shakes his head, finishing off number six.]

Nah, 'm good. Make it back home every other night.

[Every other night? Yeah, that was a bad habit.]

[He glances at his bottle, now empty, and asks for another.] What am I on, anyway? Three? Think I'll stop after this one. I really can't hold my own right now.

Ah, yeah, one more for me too. Case'll kill me if I puke in his kitchen again.

[Here comes number seven, but he's lost track.]

Man, 'm sorry about missin' your trainin'. I been hungover as shit in the morning. I drink way too damn much.

[That makes Isamu laugh a little.]

Dude, then why are you here? You're setting a poor example for your student. I'll have to ask one of your brothers to take over or something.
