[Speaking of which, they've already reached the bar. Raph pushes the door open and walks in like he freakin' owns the place.]

[Ow! He rubs at the spot moodily as he follows Raph in.]

That sounds like a good way to develop a dependency. [Especially in a place this boring.] But I'll sit with you a bit.

Yeah, what else're you gonna do? [He leans against the counter and orders himself a beer.]

[Isamu shrugs again, because that's not an argument he really wants to get into.]

Guess I'll get whatever you're getting. ...Unless it's some special kinda turtle beer.

[He gives Isamu an odd look, offering him his untouched beer and ordering a second for himself]

No, you already said you were a mutant, right? But you didn't say if you were originally a normal turtle or not. Turtles have different dietary habits.

[Though Raphael's apparently included booze. Isamu takes a much more leisurely sip of his own, trying not to raise an eyebrow.]

Yeah, was a turtle first, but we eat the same as humans. [He takes a seat on the nearby bar stool instead of his usual dark and lonely corner of the bar.] You're from Earth, right?

Yeah. [Originally, anyway. He wasn't sure what the Vortex World counted as.]

Thought so. I grew up in Manhattan...um, New York City. But my father's from Japan. Not Tokyo though, place called Chihaya. [He polishes off the first beer and orders another. He's normally not this talkative about himself, even to people he enjoys being around like Isamu, but the thought of home is a good one, so he holds onto the familiarity with a vice grip.]

Chihaya? [He'd heard that before, but not as the name of any particularly large city he could think of.] Wasn't there a castle somewhere...? Guess it's a smaller town.

Yeah, a village. [Second beer get.] Maybe a castle. I dunno.

I don't think the castle was in a village by the same name, but then I only got average grades in local history and geography.

Point is he's Japanese, right? Your dad's human? Adopted?
